Exercise, Fitness and My Health
Being physically active provides health benefits at all ages.
It is a known fact that exercise aids in the prevention of cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, stroke, arthritis, PMS, osteoporosis, improves digestion, reduces stress, strengthens the immune system,
increases life expectancy, reduces depression, strengthen bones, improves our attitude, builds muscle, helps us loose weight and the list goes on . . .
I personally do not subscribe to the belief that 'if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't work' theory.
Why? Because my body loves to be active but it does not appreciate when I treat it roughly. I believe that any physical activity that has the potential for injury may, in the long run, do more harm than good.

The goal of exercise is to get the 'blood moving', to get us breathing deeper, simply put; to get oxygen into all of our cells so that wastes can be removed and health building materials can be taken in. Being active also helps our lymph system to remove toxins and wastes from our bodies that have been gathered by the blood as it travels around to every cell of our body. All this benefits the
immune system
which then can protect us from disease.
Another benefit to
exercise
is that it can help you to create the type of body that you can be truly proud of!
I enjoy a nice brisk walk or a bicycle ride. I do yard work (mow grass, weed garden) Outdoor activities provide the benefit of fresh air and contact with Mother Earth.

There are many indoor fitness programs. My favourite one is rebounding. It is simply bouncing on a device called a rebounder or
mini-trampoline.

We all know that kids love to jump up and down every chance they get (the bed, the couch, a chair) so with a mini-trampoline we as adults can do the same and benefit every cell of our body at the same time as having fun.
